A set of coffee and tableware in white porcelain, the iconic ‘Rothschild Birds’ (Rothschild Bird / RO) design, with moulded rims featuring a wickerwork pattern (Altozier) highlighted with gold fillets. Rich, hand-painted polychrome decoration featuring pairs of perched birds, gold necklaces lost amongst the foliage, insects, ladybirds and scattered butterflies. The lid knobs are shaped like rosebuds, modelled and painted in relief.
It comprises 15 pieces: 1 large coffee pot with lid (yellow rosebud handle), 1 small milk jug, 1 oval openwork basket with twin twisted handles, 6 coffee cups (or light tea cups), 6 matching saucers.
Hungary. 20th century.
Manufacturer’s marks printed in blue and model numbers engraved beneath the bases.
