Repoussé Verge Pocket Watch, 18th Century
Fabulous English "Repoussé" Verge Pocket Watch.
18th century, around 1766.
The watch is equipped with a beautiful Verge escapement, chiseled and engraved cock with endstone.
Signed G.F. Sampion London.
Enameled Dial with roman numerals. Mineral glass. Original hands. Splendid condition.
Equipped with an old key for charging and adjustment.
The watch consists of two cases in excellent condition:
Beautiful sterling silver 925 outer case with a repoussé treatment with an unusual pattern.
Case containing movement in hallmarked sterling silver.
Small internal card certifying an old revision.
Diameter 50mm, thickness 25mm.
Splendid example of watchmaking with more than 260 years of history...
In working condition revised at the watchmaker. The watch is running about 45 minutes a day.
