MODERN ART-DRAWING-ANIMIST SYMBOLISM THE COUPLE 1962 JEAN AUJAME WATERCOLOR AND GOUACHE ON PAPER Jean Aujame, French painter and lithographer. He attended the École des Beaux-Arts in Rouen (1922-1923), and later created the Société de Artistes Normands. He was influenced by symbolism, mythology, particularly Celtic, animism, which led him to an animist symbolism and/or a figurative representation of abstraction. In 1959, he was appointed professor at the École Nationale Supérieure des Beaux-Arts. He is also quite often associated with the École de Paris. "The couple", watercolor and gouache drawing on strong paper. Signed Aujame and dated 62 lower left in pen. Framed under glass. Gray steel rods. Very good condition (see descriptive photos).
