Regulator By Armand-francois Collin, Succ. By Bernard-henry Wagner, 1886
Large regulator with 30-second remontoir for driving one or more dials of public clocks by means of a steel shaft system. The weight for this is 40 kg. The regulator of the movement has its own dial with a dial that can move the entire pendulum up and down. The movement finally runs via the 30-second remontoire on a weight of a few grams. The running time is about 14 days.
The case is made of black polished oak. The upper part with the movement has a front door and 2 side doors with glass. Original weight, pendulum and cresting key.
Armand-François COLLIN (1822-1895) took over the WAGNER firm with all its tools and customers in 1866. Wagner was convinced that Collin was the best man for this takeover that would uphold his established name. The company manufactured mainly public and monumental clocks since 1790 and was located at 118 rue Montmartre. Collin's workshops were in the Haute Jura and produced numerous public clocks for Parisian buildings, including the astronomical clock for the Palais de l'Industrie, clockworks for Notre-Dame, Saint-Augustin, La Trinité, Sainte Clotilde, the tower of Saint-Germain-L'Auxerrois, and many others.
