Pair of armchairs, model F780 known as Concorde by Pierre Paulin. Each armchair: Width 56 cm, depth 76, seat 33. Skid feet. Artifort edition.
Created in 1966, this iconic vintage piece was created by the famous French designer for the first class area of the Air France JFK lounge before boarding the Concorde. Paulin also designed the apartments of President G. Pompidou in the Elysée Palace in 1970 and the office of President François Mitterand in 81.
His furniture entered the permanent collection of the MOMA in 2007 and a retrospective of his works was dedicated to him at the Beaubourg Museum of Modern Art in Paris in 2016.
