FOLK ART, 18th century

Lovely ceramic or glazed earthenware little rabbit terrine or hare lodging

With a largely iridescent brown enamel, the shape of this little terrine surprises and delights with its very compact: both less elongated and much wider than usually.
This piece is also in very good condition -note a single, slight chip on the edge of the lid between the 2 legs of the fat rabbit !

This terrine will be perfect for folk art decoration on an old kitchen, combined with some old copper and pewter and a pretty rustic candlestick... I have also kept its twin sister in a similar setting in my kitchen: same shape, same handles, same floral motifs in relief on the body, the iridescence a little less shiny...

Relief decorative plant motifs on the body of the terrine, finished at the front and back by 2 handles.

Dimensions
28 length *20 width * 15cm height

"Rabbit terrine looking for a meeting with a pretty Louis XIII table, copper and pewter, mortar or Haute Epoque candlestick,... Beautiful harmonious still life to create together!!!"
