Indus civilization (-2600 -1900 BC), superb and rare steatite cylinder bucket with an incised motif representing a helmeted man standing and holding a spear on his left shoulder, a mythical bird standing on its legs and a symbol between the two. The Indus civilization, also called the Harappan civilization (from the name of the ancient city Harappa), is a Bronze Age civilization whose territory extended around the Indus River Valley; to the West of the Indian subcontinent, currently Pakistan to simplify. Abrasions due to age and soil incrustations; nothing abnormal compared to the great antiquity of this magnificent piece. Dimensions: Length 4.2 cm. Diameter 2 cm. The scale indicator on the last photograph is a small model of a lighter from a well-known brand. Provenance: private collection of an aesthete who is a great lover of ancient civilizations.
