Circa 1840-1850 Italy Beautiful panel from a hanging of the tree of life or Italian Mezzaro from Genoa. Eight-color woodblock print with blue brushed over yellow to obtain green! Gnarled branches with exuberant naturalistic floral decoration, butterflies, birds, pomegranates, Medici vases and Chinese altar! Two to three tiny splits in the cotton and some slight yellowing in places. Stable cotton and superb colors as originally. Dimensions: 200 cm wide by 109 cm high
