Nepal, first half of the 20th century, beautiful bronze Durga mask with brown patina. Durga, Hindu goddess, is the wife of Shiva. She is the mother of the universe and goddess of war. Her fight against the buffalo demon Mahishasura allowed her to bring joy and peace to the inhabitants of the Earth. Her headdress is decorated with five heads of Citipati. Snakes are coiled at the earlobes.
