Rare 17th century bronze mortar, truncated cone shape with buttresses in the shape of caryatids, granular cast iron. Profile of a Roman emperor in randomly arranged cartouches and profile, Domitian and Albrecht Durër. The edge of the mortar decorated with florets. Beautiful model by the Master of Nero, Le Puy en Velay. A similar model can be seen at the Crozatier Museum. Dimensions 12.5 cm x 8.5 cm.
