Adrien Dembour established himself as a printer-lithographer, succeeding Hanké and Rosch. He also bought the woodcuts of the Lacour house, in Nancy, and those of the Ardant house, in Limoges. He then joined forces, from 1840 to 1852, with Nicolas Gengel. In 1852, Gangel took over his partner's patents as a typographer and lithographer and continued to produce images, including a number of patents for dance, cane, boxing and pointe, testimonies of the training of French soldiers.
