Pair of Portraits
Nicolas de Largillière workshop (Paris 1656-1746)

This pair of paintings represents in a truly splendid way two spouses belonging to an important noble family, as evidenced by the coat of arms that appears on the canvases.
They are certainly works with all the characteristics of the finest French portraits of the 18th century and notably present all the stylistic connotations of the production of the famous Parisian master Nicolas de Largillière and his workshop.
The use of blue and pink colors in the draperies and the monochrome background make the faces of the protagonists stand out which appear smooth and luminous.
It was in the manners typical of his depictions that immortalized hundreds of high-ranking figures in 18th-century Paris.
Our two portraits are an excellent example of the works of his famous workshop.

The canvases, with elegant antique gilded frames, are in good condition and have already been cleaned.
The canvases measure cm 80 x 64
The frames cm. 100 times 84
