Harold Ambellan is an American sculptor, in 1954 he moved to France and remained there all his life. After living for several years in Montparnasse, Ambellan decided to settle in Antibes. In 1980, he moved to Arles. In France, he continued his exploration of the human figure, through his sculptures and drawings. He exhibited throughout Europe (retrospectives in 1976 at the Baden Museum in Solingen in Germany and in 2001 at the Espace Van Gogh in Arles), he notably created a collection of medals for the Paris Mint, as well as a sculpture monumental and several small pieces for the Nathan Cummings collection. Numerous exhibitions have been dedicated to him in the United States and Europe.
