Statuette, Rose Quartz, Asia, 20th Century

Sculpted stone entirely made of rose quartz. The work executed takes the form of a statuette animated by two moving characters representing a woman and a little Asian girl. A woman and a little girl could be seen, one behind the other. Their facial features allow us to recognize that they are Asian. They are also dressed in traditional costumes and hairstyles in Asia at the beginning of the 20th century and one of them wears an accessory that was very fashionable in Asia at that time. Indeed, we notice that the child is holding a palm-shaped fan in his hands, typical of the Chinese style at that time. The woman in a slightly inclined position to her left seems to be making a bow to present the child highlighted in front of her. Behind the woman springs a garland of foliage decorated with a rose ending in jets of water which come from both sides to surround the two characters.
