"Important Shepherdess Stamped Ph.poirie Louis XV XVIII Period "
Important Bergère in carved beech stamped *PHPOIRIE and **JME Louis XV XVIIIth century. Enveloping violin-shaped backrest delicately carved with flowers and foliage. Ribbed scalloped belt finely carved with flowers in the center, armrests with cuffs. It rests on five delicately sculpted arched legs. The shepherdess is covered with an evening decorated with arabesques and flowers in perfect condition. *PHPOIRIE: Philippe Poirié or Poirier - Seat carpenter. Paris. Master on October 23, 1765. Nephew of Noël Poirié, he operated a workshop on rue de Charenton for which he took over his uncle's brand. He left Louis XV and Louis XVI models. **JME: Jurande hallmark
