Large oriental miniature on ivory -India late 19th century early 20th century- Delicate polychrome painting enhanced with real gold (Hilkali ink) depicting a gallant scene featuring a Mughal emperor in the company of an Indian dancer adorned with jewels. The couple is located in the center of a lush lake landscape dominated by a fortified palace, at the bottom right two deer known as Duvaucel symbolizing fertility and the cycle of life. Good general condition, dimensions: 20.8 cm long X 12.5 high.
