Inlaid Display Case Maison Alphonse Giroux 19th
Description:
Oak, rosewood, curved glass , gilded bronze .
This exceptional display case is made up of a central body, the display case itself with a curved door and a hanger is adjoined by small shelves, an overflowing and scrolled background gives it its architectural elegance.
This small piece of furniture is entirely covered with marquetry with a pattern of cubes in perspective and rosewood bands with inverted herringbone threads. One side of each cube is dyed bright green. Inside the window, large veneer hanger motifs adorn the three sides. Gilded bronze fillets with friezes of oves and cabochons visually structure this very beautiful piece of furniture.
On the back the Alphonse Giroux et Cie label indicates manufacturing around 1850, 1870.
This prestigious house manufactured incredible objects, for princes, kings (Louis XVIII for example) and also for universal exhibitions. This model in the window is absolutely not to be found.
Condition:
Perfect condition, fully restored, has its beautiful key and the lock works. Original curved glass.
