Magnificent and large damascened Islamic tray, 19th century, most certainly of Syrian origin.
Black enameled bronze inlaid with silver, work of very good quality.
Birds are the recurring theme of the decorations. Present in the center in a complex and delicate interlacing, in the garlands and medallions around the perimeter, they alternate with calligraphic cartouches, plant braids and endless knots.
Very good used condition, some traces of superficial oxidation on the reverse.
Rare piece.
