Very large oil on canvas by Emile Godchaux presenting a bouquet of roses in a gadrooned vase in front of a bouquet of lilacs in a blue and white earthenware vase resting on an entablature. Emile Godchaux was born in 1860 in Bordeaux and died in 1938. He is an artist about whom there is little documentation. He works on themes representing essentially bouquets of flowers, always of high quality.
