Kachan Dabir carpet, of Persian origin, 1880 is distinguished by its rarity, its importance and its exceptional finesse. Coming from the imperial workshop of the Shah of Master Dabir at the end of the 19th century, this museum piece offers unrivaled quality. Density: With a density of approximately 11,000 knots per dm², the fineness of this rug is remarkable, illustrating extraordinary artisanal know-how. Technical characteristics: Made with silk velvet on silk foundations, including silk warps, weft and fringes, it demonstrates a refined and precious technique. Observations: In good general condition, this carpet retains remarkable freshness of colors and an exceptional state of conservation. Decor: This rug presents a poetic decor evoking the Earthly Paradise, inspired by Persian miniatures of the 16th and 17th centuries under the Safavid dynasty and Shah Abbas the First. The ivory field is decorated with a stylized oil lamp surrounded by polychrome flowers, multiple richly flowered trees of life, original rabbits, birds hanging and feeding their chicks in symmetry.
