Carpet from Iran and dated 1965/70, this carpet from Galerie Bidjar made of high quality silky wool velvet on cotton foundations, it is distinguished by its remarkable finesse and beautiful polychromy. Its ivory field presents an original decoration of stylized flowers and foliage, surrounded by multicolored animals and birds, inspired by Persian miniatures of the 16th and 17th centuries. The finely designed border is decorated with bulbs and flower buds surrounded by stylized polychrome birds.
