Crowned Head Of The Virgin – France – Early 15th Century flag

Object description :

"Crowned Head Of The Virgin – France – Early 15th Century"
Beautiful quality of execution for this crowned Virgin's head in limestone sculpted in high relief dating from the beginning of the 15th century.
We will notice the delicacy of the eyes stretched almond-shaped and highlighted by fine eyebrows, the upper eyelids finely hemmed, the lips sketching a slight smile, the hair with long wavy locks framing the face and falling on the shoulders
Very pretty creation also for the crown with florets enriched with a frieze of diamond cabochons.
The dress with a rounded collar is tied at the front with an elegant diamond clasp.
This beautifully crafted sculpture expresses a certain grace imbued with restraint tinged with a slight melancholy.
