Very pretty oil on canvas measuring 43.5cm x 55cm plus carved wooden frame 46cm x 55cm signed lower right and dated 1892 Painting signed by Walter BIDDLECOMBE Originally from Southampton, he exhibited at the Royal Academy of Artists in London as well as at the Walter Art Gallery, Liverpool. We find him in 1889 at the Paris Salon and from 1891 to 1899 he moved to the South of France, influenced by the strong sunshine he found there. The painting that I am presenting to you for sale represents typical goats from Rove ( near Marseille) recognizable by their particular horns we can also see in the distance a shepherd apparently sitting.
