After Jean-Pierre Pigalle bronze figure with bronze patina of a naked girl holding a bird in her hands. Signed Pigalle on the terrace. The bronze rests on a marble base. Measurements: 18cm and only the bronze 15cm Jean-Pierre Pigalle is the son of Pierre Pigalle, painter to King Louis XV of France and the nephew of the sculptor Jean-Baptiste Pigalle. Entering the school of the Royal Academy of Painting and Sculpture in 1751, he then worked with his uncle before going to Italy, where in 1768 he was appointed member of the Academy of Fine Arts in Florence.
