England - Pair Of Ormolu Torches Candlesticks "à La Financière"
Elegant pair of "à la financière" torches in chased and gilded bronze. The fluted shaft is partially worked in "barley grain" to create matt relief. It is punctuated by a ring of putti heads, the upper part decorated with pampers on an amati background, the lower part decorated with shells and acanthus leaves on an amati background. The binnacles richly decorated with flowers including four irises at the four corners, the base adorned with a rich decoration of cherubs resting on clouds, in a background of floral armfuls.
