Elegant bowl or centerpiece formed as a deep dish in finely cut crystal, mounted with a sterling silver rim (950/1000). The crystal features a sharply defined geometric frieze and a star-cut motif on the base. The rim is encircled by a moulded silver band, lending both structure and refinement to the piece.

About the silversmith:
ERNEST PROST was a Parisian silversmith based at 7 rue de Réaumur. His maker’s mark was registered on 23 August 1923 and struck off on 2 February 1963. He specialised in table silverware, working in both classical and Art Deco styles. He is especially noted for his finely executed silver mounts created for high-quality crystal pieces, particularly for the BACCARAT and SAINT-LOUIS glassworks, with a reputation for precision, balance and elegance.
