The piece features a chrome-plated metal silhouette of a French Navy sailor with enameled details and a large mast holder. The pole holder is chrome plated metal with a life buoy attached at the bottom. The pole contains seven small metal markers in the shape of a flag. Assorted enamel colors on the flags represent various international countries. It is engraved with the signature "Sudre" on the sailor's back. The base is made of Macassar wood.
