Silver alcoholmeter engraved on the handle "L'Ingr Chevallier vis-à-vis le Marché aux fleurs N°1 à Paris". This refers to "l'Ingénieur Chevallier", none other than Jean Gabriel Augustin CHEVALLIER, whose optics shop was located at 1, quai de l'Horloge, Paris, from 1796.
