On a red background, seven relics are in the spotlight in this reliquary in excellent condition. Four surround the central wax medallion. Thus we find, Saint Theodore Megalomartyr, Saint Martin (Martius), Saint Deodat of Nevers and Saint Victorinus. A fifth dominates the medallion. This is a plot of the True Cross. Finally, two others overlook the building represented here, notably Saint Boniface.
At the base between two rich sacred vases, in the center of the altar is an octagonal representation in painted relic paste of the bust of Christ wearing the crown of thorns.
Dimensions with gilded wooden frame of 40 cm by 31.5.
Very good condition for this late 18th or early 19th century reliquary.
This piece cannot be sent by post, due to the traditional fragility of rolled paper assemblies.
