Very beautiful portrait of a woman reading, in an interior with Japanese taste, and in the impressionist vein. By Lucien Cahen Michel (1888 - 1979), signed lower left and dated 1937. Exhibited at the Salon des artistes français the following year, as evidenced by the label and stamp visible on the back. Presented in a Montparnasse carved wooden frame on which we note some minor wear. Dimensions at sight: 50 x 61 cm. Overall dimensions: 71 x 81 cm. Canvas in very good condition.
