Porcelain plate with grisaille decoration of the Crucifixion of Christ, some elements of the decoration, notably the soldiers' helmets, are enhanced with gold.The border is decorated in the style of Du Paquier porcelain.

This scene is one of a series of designs illustrating the life of Christ. This plate is part of a series that classically reproduces the Nativity, the Crucifixion and the Resurrection. There are variations on the border as well as a series produced in polychrome, to which a scene is added. However, this model is part of one of the classic series with a border decorated in the style of Du Pasquier Viennese porcelain.
