Son of the Rochefort poet and bookbinder Henry Mériot, close friend of Pierre Loti, young Camille was born in a house of arts and paper. Difficult to find a better school... He was also a bookbinder by profession, and spent his time traveling the coasts of Charente but also the neighboring departments. An experienced watercolorist and painter, he delivers a clear and realistic vision of local landscapes.
While passing through Périgord in 1956, he produced several views of Sarlat of which we have some evidence.
