This copper painting measures 18cm by 23cm and its frame 33cm by 27cm This copper represents Saint Francis of Assisi (in Italian: Francesco d'Assisi). Giovanni di Pietro Bernardone was born in 1181 or 1182 in Assisi (present-day Italy) and died on October 3, 1226 in the same city. He was an Italian Catholic religious, deacon, mystic, and founder of the order of Friars Minor (OFM) in 1210, characterized by a followinga Christi in prayer, joy, poverty, evangelization and love of Divine creation. This Italian copper dates from the 17th century.
