Odiot : Large Covered Vegetable Tureen In Sterling Silver - Coat Of Arms Marquis Crown

Important Louis XVI style covered vegetable tureen in solid silver from the prestigious Maison ODIOT. The rim of the bowl is decorated with an applied border of laurel leaves with crisscrossed ribbons. Both body and lid are engraved with an Alliance Coat of Arms surmounted by the Crown of a Marquis. Scrolling openwork handles are embellished with foliate and berry motifs, and the domed lid is surmounted by a remarkable finial  with the same motifs in a form resembling a crown.
Meticulously crafted from the highest quality this , it is punched with the Minerva 1st Standard Hallmarks (.950), Hallmark of the prestigious Maison ODIOT (O with lighted antique blade and BS below), with the signature in full “Mon ODIOT Paris”, the piece is also numbered. This uniquely styled tureen from Maison ODIOT, engraved with a royal armorial, is in excellent condition, furthermore serviced and cleaned by our Goldsmith, and only light signs of use to note. Designed and masterly crafted for the very finest of tables....
