"Reliquary Ampoule Of Saint Margaret Of Cortona - 18th Century"
An unusual reliquary both in its form and its content. The container in the first place, it is a relic of the “fix adipe” chair, literally fixed fat, of our Holy Woman. In this form, the presence of such relics is remarkable.
Probably made of crystal, our hermetically sealed vial is covered with a cylinder, undoubtedly made of lead, topped with a cross. This astonishing reliquary is inviolate as evidenced by the presence of an intact wax seal. He bears the arms of a bishop.

In Cortona in Tuscany, the year 1297, Saint Margaret. Strongly moved by the violent death of her lover, she washed away the stains of her youth through salutary penance and, received into the Third Order of Saint Francis, she retired into admirable contemplation of celestial realities, enriched by God with charisms from above.(Source Nominis)

A piece worthy of a cabinet of curiosities. For those who feel it, our relic has also retained its sacred charge.
