“Forest Interior with Pond and Resting Cow”
Oil on canvas depicting a woodland interior bathed in summer light. Tall tree trunks rise toward a dense canopy in varied shades of green, with sunlight filtering through in places. In the center, a clearing opens onto a brown cow, and in the foreground a still pond reflects the trees. The brushwork is supple and vibrant, in the tradition of late 19th-century landscape painters.
Signed lower left J. Caron.
Frame: gilded wood and gesso (composition) frame with rich decoration of foliate scrolls and flowers, and a gilt inner slip.
Condition: excellent condition, canvas and frame.
