Superb and rare pair of large old paintings representing pastoral scenes with sheep, goats, dogs and cows. These oils on canvas are attributed to the great master Philip Peeter ROOS known as ROSA DA TIVOLI (1655 - 1706). The tone is quite dark with a landscape at dusk in the back, the animals are magnified with great detail of hair and eyes. These paintings were formerly re-canvased and put back on key frames at the end of the 19th century. Restorations of use of the pictorial layer. Several annotations on the frames. The frames date from the end of the 19th century. We sell these paintings with the attribution to Roos, without certainty. Period 17th or 18th century.
