Pretty bas relief on wood representing the Lion of Lucerne. Popular art work.

Designed by Bertel Thorvaldsen, then sculpted between 1820 and 1821 by Lukas Ahorn, this sculpture commemorates the officers and hundreds of soldiers of the Swiss Guards regiment who died in 1792 in the service of the King of France, Louis XVI, when the revolutionaries stormed the Tuileries Palace in Paris.
