This pretty cigar humidor is signed by table cabinetmaker Alphonse Giroux, a reference in the field. On the hood, in the brass cartouche, a count's crown and the number of Count Charles Cousin-Montauban (double "C" embedded), Count of Palikao, Chief of Staff and Minister of War at the end of Napoleon III, from August 10 to September 4, 1870.
