"Trim: War And Peace, Gilt And Patinated Bronze"
Also called "War and Peace", this clock, in gilded and patinated bronze, is a model by François Vion (model present in Versailles). Two putti surround the movement; one wearing helmet, spear and shield symbolizing the attributes of war; the other, Cupid's bow and arrows symbolizing love. The movement is surmounted by two doves of peace resting on a cloud. The base rests on four lion paw feet connected together by a drape. Enamelled dial, strike at the hours and half hours, pendulum movement in perfect working order. Two candelabras accompany it, two small fauns support the two fires.
