Henri II Cabinet Or Secretary In Carved Oak In Renaissance Style - 19th Century - France
Desk - secretary - rare Henry II style cabinet in carved oak. The base is composed of two boxes each with a drawer and a door carved and framed by columns. On the wooden top rests the cabinet treated in the style of a buffet top, with a central niche where a terrace with balusters surmounts two small carved doors and an alcove. This niche and the two doors that frame it are topped by a row of three drawers. The whole ends with a top with a cornice with Genoese motifs. All the sculpture of the furniture is borrowed from the floral, plant and architectural repertoire, France Neo-Renaissance style, Circa 1870.
