"Sterling Silver, Sheffield 1801, Pair Of Candlesticks, John Green, Roberts, Mosley &co"
Lovely pair of solid silver candlesticks from the Georgian period, bearing the guarantee hallmarks for sterling  silver (925%) of the city of Sheffield for the year 1801 and the master silversmith hallmark of the firm John Green (active from 1793 to 1803). They are in very good condition and the nozzles can be removed. Their barrels and bases are weighted and the bottoms are covered with a sheet of felt. There is a heraldic engraving or "crest" representing a hand holding two vipers on each candlestick.
