"India, First Third Of The 20th Century, Silver Bronze Statue Nandi Bull, Mounted By Shiva."
India, first third of the 20th century, very pretty silvered bronze statuette depicting Nandi, the Vahâna of Shiva, the white bull serving as his mount, in a lying position. He is generally found in this posture, lying in front of the entrance to temples dedicated to the god Shiva. Very good quality workmanship both in the carving and in the casting. Beautiful old patina.
Length 14.2 cm. The scale indicator in the last photograph is a small model of a lighter from a brand known to everyone.
