"Giulia Cecchi - The Bargello In Florence - Watercolor"
His business card mentions his name, and his status: “pittrice”. Active in Florence in the 19th century, Giulia Cecchi created several views of the Tuscan city. The interior courtyard of Bargello can be found in several of his works. This courtyard of the palace, a magnificent example of medieval civil architecture, is surrounded on 3 sides by a peristyle with solid columns. Visible to the right of the composition, a staircase leads to the loggia. Formerly a place of justice, the bargello is today a National Museum known for housing, among other things, masterpieces from the collections of Italian Gothic and Renaissance sculptures, from Michelangelo to Cellini, and from Verrochio to Giambologna
