18th Century Louis XV Period Walnut Commode
A mid 18th century walnut French provincial chest of drawers of the Louis XV period. This chest of drawers features three levels with a secret drawer situated between the top two drawers, reached by opening the drawers on either side first. The rectangular molded shaped overhanging rounded top above three short and two long molded drawers. The front of the drawers are characterized by hand carved relief outlines. Its ornate foliate brass hardware is original and facilitates the smooth opening of each drawer. Above a shaped apron. Featuring a rich and warm patina.
