"Rare Lyra Clockare "
Important and rare lyra clock with complications from the Louis XVI period, signed Roque in Paris for Joseph-Leonard Roque, famous watchmaker and mechanic, received Master Watchmaker in 1770 in Paris.
Watchmaker to the King during the second half of the 18th century, he worked with the best engineers, bronze-engravers and goldsmiths of his time, such as Claude Siméon, Paffement (King's engineer at the Louvre) Caffieri ; Thomas Germain, .............................. and on major projects such as the extraordinary pendulum of the creation of the world kept in Versailles.
Enamelled dial in three colors on a white background, openwork with a star pattern revealing the striking movement (skeleton movement). Fleur de lyse hour and minute hands. Indication of dates, days of the week, their symbols and seconds by three blue steel hands. Index in Roman and Arabic numerals. The whole suspended from a finely chiseled and mercury-gilded bronze mount, with beaded motifs of laurel tori, falling fruit and windings. Oval base in molded white Carrara marble resting on four topie legs.

Louis XVI period; a French work around 1770.

Condition: beautiful state of conservation (untouched) hairs and small chips to the enamel of the dial, the mechanism needs to be cleaned.
