Old Beaded Bamoun Mask, Origin Cameroon
The halved mask features bulging eyes, a wide and blunt nose, and a mouth with protruding lips open to a perfect dental line. The mask is covered in numerous multi-colored beads that follow the underlying shapes covered in rabane. The Bamouns inhabit a region which includes both wooded landforms and savannahs. The Bamoun, who live in the Grasslands region of southern Cameroon.
