Pewter Bowl - Lisieux, 18th Century
Pewter bowl with polylobed and openwork ears, slightly moving lid decorated with curved tongues, foliage and fleurons, with fixed brace ring. Hallmarking on the two elements:
1°- from Nicolas PREAUX received master in 1744: serpentine bird / N.PREAVX / 1751.
2°- control hallmark: crowned C / LIZIEVX / 1753.
Length: 29.3 cm.
LISIEUX (Lower Normandy), From the year 1753
The control for the vintage of 1754 is known and therefore allows us to date this bowl precisely. In very good condition and perfectly hallmarked. Nicolas PREAUX was the most active master of this Norman center
