Object description :

"Louis-ferdinand Celine – Signed Autograph Letter"
Autograph letter signed “F Céline” to the publisher Jean-Gabriel Daragnès. (Denmark 1948); 2 folio pages.
Great letter from Céline in her forced exile who rails against the new leaders of the Denoël editions, editions taken over after the assassination of Robert Denoël in 1945 at the liberation, who he thinks are trying to play a bad trick on him for the next release from “Féérie pour une autre temps” written in Denmark. The book was finally released on his return to France by Gallimard on June 27, 1952, Gaston Gallimard having gone out of his way to get Céline back: “That's it! vice triumphs! Thief I am! innocent sailboats! She's going to take me away. All hair! I will never touch the ground! A thousand good reasons! (…) I only see one ultimate point which can be to defeat him. Play her who she will never have Féérie worse I will print myself abroad under another name (transparent) if she does not come to the point...I want another contract for the whole - with cash - real "sounding (...) In any case I will break my contract, it is leonine and worthless - I will plead and I will win - that she will be pissed and that in any case she will never see Féérie or the sequel to Guignols (ready-made). Talk about a downpour! …”
