A Classic Doll Related Children Book From The Romantic Era By Julie Gouraud
This desirable book tells the story of a French doll from the 1830/1840s era. It is illustrated by delightful monochrome engravings, some representing the famous Popotes, the leather black dolls made in Guadeloupe and Martinique to complement the French made Pauline paper mâché headed dolls from that generation.
Julie Gouraud is also known by her pseudonym Louise d’Aulnay, a very successful French author who also directed the Journal des Jeunes Personnes during the 1830s and 1840s.
The condition is not perfect.
The corners of the cover and back cover are worn, and there is a hole on the cover that penetrates to page 30.
Dimensions:
8 1/4" x 5 1/2"
188 pages
